Postponed

TBD

Since November 2016, more than half of the U.S. electorate has taken some type of action as a result of poor federal, state, and local governance. By ideating and experimenting together on what is needed both inside and outside of social justice movements, we can keep the momentum and action going.

Social Movements + Innovation at The New School is hosting innovation pop-ups in a city near you. During these two-hour sessions, we will ideate together on what kind of infrastructure and programming 21st-century social movement leaders need to solve for the most pressing issues of our time. We will challenge ourselves to move beyond traditional ways of thinking and collaborate on how best to create communities of practice that foster an environment of rigor and support.

Sign up to join a pop-up in a city near you. If you’d like to co-host a pop-up and don’t see your city listed below, email us.

Calling all New School activists, movement leaders, change-makers and innovators! Social Movements + Innovation is a new project on campus that is building a hub for movement leaders, collaborators, and partners to come together and think and act at the intersection of social movements and innovation. We want to co-create the infrastructure 21st-century activists and movement leaders need to do their best work. Join us to learn more about this project, meet the staff and break bread!

Sometimes when institutions are created, they are done so without input from the people they want to serve. Social Movements + Innovation is changing that by asking stakeholders upfront what they need and want. We are hosting gatherings during the fall semester on campus to listen and learn from New School students, faculty, staff and alumni about what is needed and desired from a “think and do tank” that can offer learning, practice, and innovation space for activists and movement leaders in collaboration with the university community. Come by and share your voice!
